Her Traditions visual representation – The artist’s explanation of her work

When trying to create an image that represented our Vision, we sought feedback from our Her Traditions Council, a group of local women leaders and professionals, who meet periodically to help guide us in this inspiring work. They suggested we seek the talents of a local artist.

We chose to work with well-known artist, Brenda Wintermyer, and gave her just two words to convey: feminine and strong. We feel she created a timeless image that has captivated those we seek to serve.

Here is Brenda’s interpretation of her art:

• Femininity = Curve of the composition and rounded curves of the face, “She embraces her individuality and beauty.”
• Strength = Bold, dark outlines and bold colors, “She is female and strong.”
• Tradition and Heritage = Hairstyle and statuesque-like face, “She has deep roots.”
• Modern = Style and technique, “She looks to the future.”
• Diversity = Two-color split, “We are different, yet one.”
• Growth and Life = Flowers and leaves around her face, “She is always growing, always learning.”
• Contemplation = Eyes looking off to the side, “She is a planner, thinker, and visionary.”

She represents the best in all of us.
